APEC: Asia Pacific Economic Co-operation

For those who arent aware.. Australia (Sydney) is hosting the next APEC meeting.. Where a lot of country leaders will come into Sydney to discuss Economic issues and other things.. It wll be held on the 7th, 8th and 9th of September

Australia is taking some extreme actions to keep people out of Sydney to prevent a terrorist attack. They are:

- All planes that fly over sydney will be cancelled
- Its a public holiday to keep commuters and crowds out of the city
- The city will be shut down, including several train stations
- 10 foot fences will be put up
- They are calling in alot of police officers to patrol the city
- They are all running police checks on the choir (kids) who will be singing at the conference..


The point of this topic is to discuss APEC, and also to discuss whether or not you believe that Australia is being too paranoid

In my opinion, everyone is being so paranoid. If they wanted to attack, they would have done it by now, and there is only two places i know that they would even consider attacking, Central Station, and any hospital..

I just think its really stupid..

^ i see your point megzony but i also think that.. they can do all they want.. if a terrorist is that keen on doing what he's gotta do.. he will do it whether theres a 10 foot wall infront of him or not.. *shrugs*
